Nestle Boycott

image Many people love Nestle chocolate, Edy’s ice-cream and Nescafe coffee. Unfortunately the Nestle company is less than worthy of our financial support. For years they’ve been marketing their baby formula to people in some of the poorest countries. Their commercials basically claim that the formula will make child geniuses and unfortunately many many poor people have fallen for it. This has caused a lot of unnecessary death and health issues among the children. You can view the whole story here:

  • Thank you so much for sharing this important information.  Voting with our chekbook, it’s my favorite way of clearly stating my values and beliefs.  It’s one of the strongest way to change the world. It’s so sad that a company have to do this to make profits. They should be ashamed!

  • Nestle’s latest global strategy (2010) is to promote its baby milk with the claim that it ‘protects’ babies, claiming it aids brain and eye development, supports the immune system and gives a blood profile similar to breastfed babies. It has added prominent, colourful logos to product labels in 120 countries, that undermine the obligatory ‘breastmilk is best for babies’ that the boycott helped to bring in. • The boycott is still going strong around the world. In the United Kingdom, an independent survey found that Nestle is the 4th most boycotted brand

  • I’m not sure about the survey Squarepegweb is referring to, but both Ethical Consumer Magazine and GMIPoll have found Nestlé is the most boycotted company in the UK by a long way.

Globally, Nestlé is amongst the four most boycotted companies on the planet.

Even Nestlé’s Global Public Affairs Manager admits that Nestlé is ‘widely boycotted’.
